RUBBER PROCESS OIL
Description of RUBBER PROCESS OIL
Rubber Process Oil (RPO) is a type of specialized oil that is widely used in the rubber industry for the processing of various types of rubber. It is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons obtained by refining crude oil. The refining process removes the impurities from the crude oil and enhances the properties of the oil for its specific use. In this page, we will discuss the various aspects of Rubber Process Oil, including its product description, specifications, chemical formula, properties, and applications.
Rubber Process Oil is a light yellow to dark brown liquid with a mild odor. It is a non-toxic and non-corrosive liquid that is used as a processing aid for various types of rubber. It is a mixture of hydrocarbons with a boiling range of approximately 320 to 570 °C. The molecular weight of RPO ranges from 300 to 700 g/mol.
Product Specifications
Rubber Process Oil comes in various grades, each with specific properties and applications. The most commonly used RPO grades are Aromatic, Paraffinic, and Naphthenic. Each grade has different specifications and properties that make it suitable for a specific application.
Aromatic Rubber Process Oil has a high aromatic content, typically more than 35%. It has good solvency power, and it is suitable for use in natural rubber and SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) processing.
Paraffinic Rubber Process Oil has a low aromatic content, typically less than 3%. It has good oxidation stability and low volatility, making it suitable for use in EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) and NR (Natural Rubber) processing.
Naphthenic Rubber Process Oil has a medium aromatic content, typically less than 25%. It has good solvency power and low volatility, making it suitable for use in CR (Chloroprene Rubber) and NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) processing.
Product Chemical Formula, CAS Number, and HS Code
The chemical formula of Rubber Process Oil is CnH2n+2. The CAS Number of RPO is 64742-16-1. The HS Code for Rubber Process Oil is 2710.19.80.
Product Properties
Rubber Process Oil has several properties that make it suitable for use in the rubber industry. It has excellent solvency power, good oxidation stability, low volatility, and good compatibility with rubber. It also has good low-temperature properties and low pour point. The physical and chemical properties of RPO depend on the specific grade and the refining process used.
Application of RUBBER PROCESS OIL
Rubber Process Oil is widely used in the rubber industry as a processing aid. It is used to improve the processing and performance of various types of rubber, including natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and elastomers. RPO is used as a plasticizer, softener, and extender in rubber formulations. It is also used as a lubricant in rubber processing equipment.
Aromatic Rubber Process Oil is used in the production of tires, conveyor belts, and other rubber products. It is also used in the manufacture of rubber compounds for automotive applications.
The Paraffinic Rubber Process Rubber goods made of EPDM and NR, such as hoses, gaskets, and seals, are produced using oil. Adhesives, coatings, and other industrial goods are also produced using it.
Naphthenic Rubber Process Oil is used in the production of CR and NBR rubber products, such as seals, gaskets, and hoses. It is also used in the manufacture of industrial products, such as adhesives and coatings.
Packing of RUBBER PROCESS OIL
Rubber process oil packed in new 180kg drum. Each 20-foot container takes 80 drum. Also possible in tanks and bulk shipments. It may pack in flexi tanks.
