DESCRIPTION OF OXIDIZED BITUMEN 75/25
When pure bitumen (pure bitumen is identical to penetration bitumen) is blown over, it transforms into oxidized bitumen 75/25, also known as blown asphalt 75/25 or blown bitumen 75/25. It has a lower penetration grade and a greater softening point when compared to pure bitumen. The asphaltene in this bitumen polymerizes as a result of wind, turning it into a flexible bitumen. This bitumen is known as Rubberized Bitumen because of its rubber component, as the letter R indicates. The penetration level and softening point are shown by these numbers. For instance, the specification Oxidized Bitumen R75/25 states that this bitumen has a penetration grade of 25 and a softening point of 75.

OXIDIZED BITUMEN 75/25 PRODUCTION PROCESS:
In order to produce oxidized bitumen 75/25, the BBU reactor at the refinery must first heat penetration grade bitumen to a temperature that falls somewhere between 240 and 270 degrees Celsius. As a consequence of the air being heated up in the reactor, the hydrogen atoms in the bitumen interact with the oxygen atoms in the air. The next step involves the generation of some steam, which must be evacuated from the oxidation chamber. As a result, there is still 75/25 oxidized bitumen present.

APPLICATIONS OF OXIDIZED BITUMEN 75/25
Road construction, hydropower projects, roofing, flooring, mastics, the oil and gas sectors, and electrical applications are just a few of the uses for oxidized bitumen 75/25.
- Roads: Oxidised bitumen 75/25 is suitable for paving, constructing, and maintaining roads. It can be added to asphalt for parking lots, railways, highways, and other surfaces.
- Hydro projects: A substance called oxidized bitumen 75.25 is used to line canals. This kind of bitumen can be utilized for further hydro projects, including constructing embankments and dams, hydraulic structures, protecting dam linings, and stabilizing sand.
- Roofing: In roofing felts, shingle roofs, damp-proof coating compositions, carriage roofing compounds, liquid roof coatings, and plastic cements, blown asphalt 75-25 is used. It is often the best solution for waterproofing roofs.
- Flooring: One of the main uses for blown bitumen 75-25 is flooring. Acid- and alkali-resistant bitumen mastic can be used to stop corrosion on the surface of chemical plants, fertilizer plants, steel factories, and other facilities. Additionally, it has the ability to restore parquet floors.
- Oil and gas industry: To prevent pipeline corrosion and rust, oxidized bitumen 75-25 is often used in addition to cutback bitumen MC30.
